I like to create silly little challenges for myself that I often don't succeed at, but which push me to achieve more than I otherwise would.

12 for 12 was a challenge I attempted in 2025 to do something about my gaming backlog. The objective was to play 12 games I hadn't played before for 12 hours each (or to play new games for 12 hours each month).
The 2025 challenge fell apart due in part to parenting responsibilities and, towards the end of the year, computer problems. But it wasn't a failure because I ended up discovering 5 new games throughout the process, all of which I am likely to revisit.
I didn't restart the challenge in 2026 due to my main laptop still being out of commission. Then in July, right at the start of the second half of the year, I just happened to start playing a new game... and it occurred to me that maybe I'd be better able to keep up with a shorter challenge.
